Juniors Classes

Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu for ages 10-14 — advanced technique, conditioning, and a structured outlet that builds teen confidence. First class free.

Ages 10-14

The Juniors program at Gracie Barra Round Rock is the top tier of the academy's age-banded kids curriculum — built for students ages 10 to 14 who are ready to train seriously. The curriculum moves at the pace of developing athletes: technique is taught with the same precision as the adult program, drilling is structured, and live training is a regular part of class. Students in Juniors are learning Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, not an introduction to it.

Prof. Andre Sena coaches Juniors with a consistent focus on what this age group actually needs: a structured physical outlet, a room with clear standards and real consequences, and an adult in the room who takes their development seriously. Teenagers who train at GB Round Rock are being asked to solve problems under pressure, to lose and keep showing up, and to hold themselves accountable to a standard that doesn't shift based on how the week went. That is what BJJ does for this age group that very few other activities can replicate — and the reviews from Round Rock parents with teenagers in Juniors say exactly that.

The Juniors room serves a wide geographic range: families from Georgetown's Wolf Ranch neighborhood, Cedar Park, and the Teravista and Forest Creek communities in north Round Rock drive to East Old Settlers Boulevard for this program. The Saturday 8:00 AM to 10:00 AM Juniors session is one of the longest in the weekly schedule, reflecting the conditioning work and extended sparring rounds that teenagers at this level are ready for.

Class times are Monday and Wednesday 6:00 PM, Tuesday and Thursday 6:00 PM, and Saturday 8:00 AM to 10:00 AM. Juniors students who want to compete have a clear path through the Gracie Barra competition structure. The first class is free. Call (512) 287-9823 to talk through the program or book a trial class.

Why Train Juniors?

  • Advanced BJJ technique at the pace of developing athletes — not a kids' class that repeats the same basics, but genuine progression.
  • Prof. Andre Sena coaches Juniors with a consistent, high-standard approach that teens in Round Rock describe in family Google reviews.
  • A structured competitive outlet: Juniors students who want to compete have a direct path through the Gracie Barra tournament system.
  • Two-hour Saturday session — extended conditioning and sparring time that matches what this age group is physically and mentally ready for.
  • Discipline and accountability built into every class: showing up, losing, improving, and returning are the curriculum.
  • A social community of Round Rock-area teens — peers from Georgetown, Cedar Park, and north Round Rock who train together weekly.
