Women's BJJ Classes

Women-only Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu — practical self-defense in an all-women room, Tuesday and Thursday evenings. All levels welcome. First class free.

The Women Only BJJ class at Gracie Barra Round Rock runs Tuesday and Thursday evenings at 6:15 PM — a dedicated room, a consistent schedule, and a group of women at every level of experience. The class follows the same Gracie Barra curriculum framework as the main adult program, with the technical content shaped around practical self-defense: how to create distance, how to get back to your feet, how to control a larger, stronger opponent using position rather than strength.

Professor Andre Sena and the GB Round Rock team designed the women's class around a specific reality: that learning to defend yourself is fundamentally different when you're not training with fear as the dominant emotion. The all-women format lets students ask questions they might not ask in a mixed room, drill at their own pace, and build confidence through actual repetition rather than a one-session seminar that fades by the following week. Coach Sandra, mentioned by name in GB Round Rock reviews, has been a consistent presence in the women's program and a genuine source of inspiration for female students at the academy.

Students have driven from Pflugerville, Hutto, and the Stone Oak neighborhood in north Round Rock to be in this specific room on Tuesday and Thursday evenings. That kind of regular commute happens when a class does something no other program in the area replicates: ongoing, technical, women-only Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu taught by instructors who take the curriculum seriously. This is not a cardio kickboxing class with a self-defense label.

The first class is free, no contract, no obligation. If you have questions before you come in — what to expect, what to wear, how the class is structured — call (512) 287-9823. The women's class at GB Round Rock has been building for years. The Tuesday and Thursday 6:15 PM slot is the consistent entry point.

Why Train Women's BJJ?

  • All-women class every Tuesday and Thursday at 6:15 PM — a dedicated room and a consistent schedule you can plan around.
  • Practical BJJ-based self-defense: leverage, position, and technique that work regardless of size or strength.
  • Instruction from Prof. Andre Sena and Coach Sandra, whose names appear specifically in GB Round Rock student reviews.
  • All experience levels trained together — the class is built for beginners and welcoming to women who have trained before.
  • The same official Gracie Barra curriculum, so your progression and belt rank transfer to any GB school worldwide.
  • A training environment built on respect and technical focus, not intimidation — ego-free from the first session.
