Future Champs Classes

Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu for ages 5-6 — basic positions, mat awareness, and the focus and discipline that carry into school. First class free.

Future Champs at Gracie Barra Round Rock is the next step in the academy's age-banded kids program — designed specifically for the 5 and 6-year-old who is ready for real structure, real technique, and a genuine peer group. The curriculum at this level introduces basic BJJ positions: guard, mount, side control — not as combat concepts, but as foundational spatial skills. Children at this age can follow multi-step instructions and begin to understand cause and effect in physical movement, and the Future Champs curriculum is written for exactly that developmental window.

Prof. Andre Sena runs the Future Champs program with the same steady, patient energy that shows up in GB Round Rock's Google reviews. The children who move from Tiny Champs to Future Champs come in knowing how to fall, how to listen, and how to move — and the Future Champs class builds directly on that foundation. The curriculum is structured: each class covers a specific position or movement, drills it, and reinforces it through partner work. Discipline and focus are explicit goals, not byproducts, which is why the school-age improvements parents describe — listening, following instructions, staying on task — show up consistently.

The Future Champs room includes children from neighborhoods throughout Round Rock, Pflugerville, and Hutto. The consistency of the class times — Monday and Wednesday at 4:10 PM, Tuesday and Thursday at 4:30 PM, and Saturday at 8:00 AM — makes it a realistic weekly commitment for families in these communities. Parents watch from a dedicated viewing area at the academy on East Old Settlers Boulevard.

The first class is free. The Future Champs program does not require prior martial arts experience — it's a starting point for many kids in Round Rock. Call (512) 287-9823 to ask questions or book your child's free trial class.

Why Train Future Champs?

  • Curriculum designed for 5 and 6-year-olds — real technique taught at the right developmental pace, not watered-down adult content.
  • Basic BJJ positions introduced in a structured sequence: guard, mount, and mat awareness taught through partner drilling and play.
  • Prof. Andre Sena leads classes with a method Round Rock parents describe specifically in five-star Google reviews.
  • Five class sessions per week — Monday through Thursday afternoons and Saturday morning — for consistent weekly training.
  • Focus and discipline that transfer: parents routinely note improvements in school-age listening and attention outside the gym.
  • A direct step in the GB Round Rock kids progression — Future Champs flows into Future Champs II when your child is ready at age 7.
